I received some queries from the local area about interest in this site for Community purposes. I undertook to approach NAMA to determine their interest in working with Community groups and I put the relevant community workers in touch with the estate agents on behalf of the receivers who handled the recent auction. The site was purchased privately for €80,000.
I will continue to work with the local community and Kildare County Council to ensure that this prominent site in the town is not let lie idle for years to come.
