Kildare South TD and Chairman of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party Martin Heydon has said that he is continuing to push for progress on funding for a new Endoscopy Unit at Naas Hospital. This follows a meeting he facilitated between Management from Naas Hospital and the Dublin Midlands Hospital Group with Minister Simon Harris to emphasise the importance of the project.
“Following the Ministers visit to Naas last November I organised a follow up meeting between the Minister and senior management from Naas Hospital and the Dublin Midlands Hospital Group to update the Minister on progress at Naas and the continuing need for the new unit. The importance of the development for Naas Hospital and the wider Dublin Midlands Hospital Group was again emphasised to the Minister. This building project has planning permission since January 2015 and is ready to proceed to tender as soon as approval can be received from the HSE.
“The Minister recognises the urgent need for the unit to take pressure off waiting lists for Naas and other hospitals in the group and undertook to review the case for funding with his officials and revert back to us as soon as possible.”
