Cllr Paddy Curran has been co-opted as a member of Kildare County Council for the Kildare Electoral Area representing Fine Gael. His appointment was confirmed at a meeting of Kildare County Council today and follows the resignation of Cllr Mark Stafford in July when he was appointed as County Registrar for Co. Louth.
Speaking following the co-option today, Cllr Curran said “I am delighted to be co-opted as a member of Kildare County Council to represent the people of the Kildare electoral area, and Kildare-Newbridge municipal district. I particularly look forward to engaging with and working on behalf of the many great community and voluntary groups across the district who make such an important contribution to our area.
Minister Martin Heydon welcomed Cllr Curran to the local Fine Gael team and said “It is great that Paddy has joined our local Fine Gael team in Kildare South. He has a wealth of experience working in his local community and representing individuals from the bloodstock industry. He will be a great representative for the people of Kildare on the County Council. and I look forward to working with him in his new role.
Cllr Curran lives in Kildare town with his wife and works for the Irish Stable Staff Association.
