Fine Gael Kildare South TD, Martin Heydon, has confirmed that Mr Luke Charleton, Special Manager at Newbridge Credit Union has agreed to meet with TDs from Kildare South. This meeting is now confirmed for Wednesday of this week.
“I welcome the fact that Mr Luke Charleton has agreed to meet with myself and my Oireachtas Colleagues from Kildare South given the recent announcements by the Central Bank relating to Newbridge Credit Union. There has been a huge lack of facts and figures as to the current position at the Credit Union which has contributed to the frustration of Credit Union members. Many of the announcements of the Central bank have created more questions than answers.
“I hope Mr Charleton will be in a position to give us some information on the current process, the financial position of the Credit Union and a timeline for completion. Until all the facts and figures are on the table, it is very difficult to accept many of the Central Bank statements and understand exactly how the Credit Union ended up in this position,” concluded Heydon.
