People have Genuine Concerns that need to be Addressed
“People have genuine concerns regarding overhead lines and pylons, they feel they aren’t being given due consideration at present. They have concerns about the impact on their local environment, the potential impact on their health, farmers are concerned about the impact on their livestock, never mind the crucial equine industry which is intrinsic to Kildare.
“When Eirgrid say undergrounding costs more, do they take full account of the financial impact that there may be on our tourism industry, does that factor in the financial cost of the devaluation of individual properties?
“I would like to see a full cost benefit analysis of the under grounding option and let us have a proper open debate on the matter instead of the present situation where Eirgrid say it’s just more expensive so they are not going to examine it.”
