Fine Gael TD for Kildare South Martin Heydon, has this week welcomed confirmation of the long awaited €499,966 in Leader Funding for the Suncroft Community Centre. The funding is part of a €739,000 project to construct a new community centre comprising dressing rooms for sports, meeting and event rooms, youth space, café area, office space and a theatre, at the community field in Suncroft, Co. Kildare.

“I am delighted that this long awaited funding has now been confirmed. I attended my first public meeting in Suncroft regarding the Community Centre over 3 years ago and have been actively engaged with the Committee, Kildare Leader and the Department of the Environment ever since.”

“I have been acutely aware of the difficulties and delays that have been encountered to get to this stage and I have been in constant contact with Minister Phil Hogan and Kildare Leader to have the issues resolved in a timely manner.”

“The new Community Centre will be of enormous benefit to the local community in Suncroft and I would like to complement the Committee and all members of the Community who have contributed to the progress to date. I look forward to seeing the project progress to completion now as a boost for the entire community of Suncroft.”
