Fine Gael TD for Kildare South. Martin Heydon, has welcomed confirmation from Mr. John Tierney, the Managing Director of Irish Water that €33m has been granted for the upgrading of the Osberstown Waste Water Treatment Plant which serves Kilcullen, with works to commence shortly.

“The upgrade of the waste water treatment plant at Osberstown is a boost for the people of Kilcullen and the greater Naas area as it will allow for further growth and development. This upgrade will provide for an increase in the population capacity of the treatment plant, from 80,000 to 130,000. This will facilitate an already expanding industrial, domestic and commercial population in the local area. The new system will cater for a higher number of businesses as well as residential developments, which will allow a focus on jobs development and growth in the area which is much needed.
