Fine Gael TD for Kildare South, Martin Heydon, has today (Monday) said the granting of planning permission by An Bord Pleanala for the Osberstown Interchange, the Sallins By Pass and the N7 road widening project is a great development for the County.
“The upgrade works will make life significantly easier for Kildare residents who commute to Dublin using the N7. The widening to three lanes from the big ball at Naas to the M9/M7 interchange will greatly reduce congestion that has been getting progressively worse as more people return to work.”
“The Osberstown interchange is vital to the new Kerry facility as it nears completion given the size of the new workforce there. These works will also address the significant safety concerns that currently exist with Junction 10.”
“I compliment the staff of Kildare County Council in the National Roads Design Office who worked tirelessly to get this project passed planning. I will be making representations to Minister for Transport Pascal Donohoe of the urgency now needed to get these works constructed. In conjunction with the ongoing investment in upgrading Newlands Cross, Kildare commuters and businesses alike will benefit greatly from these infrastructural projects.”
