Fine Gael TD for Kildare South Martin Heydon, held a meeting between Representatives of Kildare IFA and Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture Tom Hayes to discuss the new Beef Suckler Scheme and other issues of interest to Kildare Farmers. The meeting took place in Kildare on a recent visit by Minister Hayes.
“I was pleased to have the opportunity for Kildare IFA to meet with the Minister. Kildare Farmers have had a number of concerns about the new Beef Genomics Data scheme which IFA County Chairman Pat Farrell wanted to highlight with Minister of State Hayes.
“The Minister assured the IFA representatives that a working group including farming organisations would be established in the near future to review the areas of concern with the scheme.
