Fine Gael Kildare South TD Martin Heydon has today (Friday) welcomed confirmation from Naas Credit Union that they are to open a temporary office in Newbridge pending completion of their new full offices in Newbridge.

“I am very pleased that Naas Credit Union have confirmed that they will be opening a temporary branch in the former FAS Office on Main Street, Newbridge, as an interim solution until their new permanent branch opens on Edward Street. The temporary office will be open to members from December 2016.

“Residents and businesses in Newbridge have been waiting for Credit Union services to return to the town and this will be a great boost for all before Christmas.  While services have been available for Newbridge residents in Naas since the Central Bank opened up the common bond area, a physical office in the town will make those services more available and convenient for Newbridge residents.

“I will continue to work with Naas Credit Union to ensure their full offices are completed as soon as possible on Edwards St but in the interim I am pleased to see this progress with a physical presence in Newbridge that has been long awaited and that will be a benefit for local businesses and residents alike.
