Fine Gael TD for Kildare South Martin Heydon has today (Monday) welcomed the announcement that €90,500 has been allocated to Kildare projects under Department of Health National Lottery Funding announced by Minister Simon Harris today.

“As a Committee member of Teach na nDaoine in Kilcullen, Co, Kildare I am particularly delighted at an allocation of €45,000 towards the Teach na nDaoine project which when added to ongoing local fundraising will help the committee to continue its work is developing the new centre in Kilcullen.

“The Athy Community Addiction Response (ACAR) which carries out great work in Athy has been awarded €9,500 towards the fit out of their offices.  Older Voices Kildare a Co Kildare Leader initiative has been awarded €20,000 to fund a social prescribing model in Kildare.

“These projects many of which are staffed by volunteers provide much needed services in their local communities and I am pleased to see their ongoing work recognised and supported” Heydon concluded.
