Speaking in the Dail on the Social Welfare Bill I welcomed increases in old age pensions, social welfare payments and improvements for the self employed which are included in this Bill.
These changes which will be enshrined in the Social Welfare Bill are part of our fair and prudent approach to pass on benefits from our recovery to all sectors in society where resources allow.
It saw modest increases for all while adhering to our core principle of making work pay.
