Fine Gael TD for Kildare South & Laois and Chairman of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party, Martin Heydon, is inviting all those with an interest in the challenges facing us from Brexit to a public meeting he is hosting in the The Heritage Killenard on Thursday 1st February. The meeting will be addressed by Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney, MEP Mairead McGuinness, Damian McDonald, IFA, Kieran Finane of Finline Furniture and former Fine Gael Leader Alan Dukes.

“The end of phase 1 of Brexit negotiations in December secured commitments that we sought for Ireland.  However as we start 2018 and the next phase of negotiations on Brexit, the challenges for Irish Businesses, agriculture and the common travel areas remain. This public meeting is an opportunity for you to hear the latest updates on the negotiations and the views from Europe.  It will also allow you to have your say on the future we want after Brexit.

“We have gathered a list of high quality speakers including Tanaiste Simon Coveney. Between them our speakers have vast experience of negotiations at European level as well as dealing with the daily challenges that Brexit pose to both business and agriculture in Ireland.

“The meeting being held in The Heritage, Killenard is open to all and I look forward to a large attendance on the night.”
