Last night I attended a public meeting to discuss the delays that have been experienced on the proposed new secondary  school for Monasterevin.  This school has been in the pipeline for almost 16 years and is included on the current 6 year school building programme.

Successive issues with the site and legal difficulties have caused delays that have led to huge frustration among parents teachers and students.  I have been assisting the Board of Management in trying to solve these delays for some time.

Today in the Dail I had the opportunity to raise the delay in progressing the new building for St. Pauls secondary school to tender stage.  I asked Minister Richard Bruton to intercede to try to clear the current legal issues which have delayed the project

I will continue to raise this issue with the Department of Education until we get the school building progressed.
