In response to my motion seeking progress on the Kildare section of the Barrow Blueway in the Dail, Minister Josepha Madigan agreed that proceeding with the Kildare section of the project was the best option for Waterways Ireland. This is really positive news for this route from Lowtown, Robertstown through Rathangan, Monasterevin and Athy in advance of the 9th July meeting of the Waterways Ireland monitoring committee, to decide the future of this project. I continue to push for delivery of the 50km route through Kildare that would bring huge economic and tourist opportunities to South Kildare.
