I’m delighted for the great team and residents at the Curragh Lawns Nursing Home who were the first Kildare nursing home to receive the Pfizer Biontec vaccine today. A total of 37 Curragh Lawns residents and 52 staff received their vaccinations there today. Well done to Liam, Miriam, Valerie and all of the staff for their care and dedication throughout this pandemic and long before it.
Vaccinations also commenced for staff at Naas General Hospital today. A peer vaccination team of up to 7 nurses will vaccinate staff at Naas this week.
There has been 15,314 vaccinations carried out to date with 35,000 expected to take place by the end of this week. Weekly rollouts will be increased as additional supplies are approved and received.
