Minister of State and Fine Gael TD for Kildare South Martin Heydon yesterday cut the ribbon on Keurig Dr.Pepper Ireland’s new International Operations hub in Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

The 300,000 square feet manufacturing facility is central to Keurig Dr Pepper’s global supply chain and operates as the Company’s first manufacturing plant for beverages outside of North America.

The current team of 80 employees who hold a variety of roles, including operations, quality assurance, engineering, planning, and research and development is to be expanded with 20 new roles to be filled by year’s end.

Speaking at the facility’s opening, Minister Heydon welcomed the new facility to Newbridge and the jobs it would create: “As Minister of State in the Department of Agriculture I see every day the huge job opportunities there are in the food and beverage sector and I believe there is huge scope to deliver more of these jobs in Kildare.”

“The existing jobs at this facility as well as the ones that will be brought by the new operations are high quality, well-paying jobs in a sector that is at the forefront of innovation. These are the type of employment opportunities developed in Kildare South for our residents, creating more employment opportunities beyond commuting to Dublin.”

Minister Heydon pointed to significant Government investment in the region including the M7 road widening, and significant investment in water and wastewater infrastructure as a key enabler of several recent job announcements.

The Minister concluded by commending Kildare County Council and the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) for their collaborative work to create the employment opportunities.
