Fine Gael TD for Kildare South, Martin Heydon has today (Wednesday) met with Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, with Responsibility for Housing Paudie Coffey in Leinster House to update him on the dramatic events in Newbridge last night.

“I share the shock and concern of all Newbridge residents at the loss for these families and the devastation left in Millfield last night.  I have spoken today to Housing Minister Paudie Coffey to ensure his Department are up to speed on the events and can provide whatever assistance is possible to Kildare County Council as they deal with this horrific event.

“Minister Coffey has committed to me that his Department will give whatever assistance or expertise is necessary to Kildare County Council as they assist the families who have been affected and carry out a full investigation into the fire.
